Today we celebrate the irresistible delicacy of simple ingredients that conquered even the most demanding palate.
Actually the hamburger is one of the most popular food not only in the United States but throughout the world, however. How did this delicious food become what it is today?
It was during the nineteenth century that in Hamburg, Germany one of its meals became popular: Hamburg fillet, which consisted of minced meat to make meatballs.
However what really made this meal evolve into what we believe was "The First Burger", was simply to place two pieces of round bread. This meal was accompanied by beets, pickles, tomato slices or even onion.
Did you know that the city of Hamburg was the conection of Germany and the United States of America?
After the migration of Germans to that country, many took with them the recipe of such an appetizing fillet and it was until 1885 that Charlie Nagreen sold this meal at the markets of Wisconsin.
The evolution of the hamburger
During the 1920s the German meal was innovating to the extent that Lionel Sternberger added cheese to this delicacy and in 1921 was born White Castle, the first fast food hamburger establishment in Kansas, its creators? Billy Ingram and Walter Anderson.
Over time, hamburgers became the main menu item on road diners and soda shops, where often served in with fries and smoothies. Does it sound familiar?
